Editorial policy

How Rural Property Guide sources YMYL claims, labels guest posts and handles corrections.

Rural property is a your-money-your-life topic. The policy is simple.

  1. Primary sources first. Prefer .gov.au pages, legislation registers and regulator guidance over blogs.
  2. No invented listings. If we cannot verify a farm is for sale today from a current public notice, we do not describe it as available.
  3. No fake quotes. The old WordPress theme displayed unnamed client praise. We deleted it.
  4. Date the thing that changes. FIRB thresholds, duty rates and FMD settings move. We cite the live page and the date we checked.
  5. Label guest posts. Commercial pitches that survive only because of backlinks are rewritten as education or redirected.

Corrections are logged by updating the updated field in Keystatic and, where needed, a note in the article body.

Questions people ask

How do you treat statistics?

Only with a primary citation. If we cannot point to FIRB, the ATO, a revenue office or another official page, we do not publish the number.

Are guest posts marked?

Yes. Guest posts keep their URL when they have backlinks, but the template labels them as guest content.
